Founded in 1930 in New York, Quoizel Lighting began as a small business with a limited product line. In 1964 Ira Phillips joined the company. During the next 40 years he led it through extraordinary growth by expanding the product mix and providing innovative merchandising strategies to retailers. Phillips acquired full ownership in 1986, and in 1996 he relocated Quoizel's corporate headquarters to Charleston, SC, where it now operates from a state-of-the art, 500,000 square-foot facility. Today, Quoizel Lighting remains a privately held, family-owned and operated business offering more than 2,000 items in its full-line catalog. Quoizel Lighting has hundreds employees between 3 locations in South Carolina, New York and China, along with 2 distribution centers.

How did Quoizel Lighting get its name?
In 1930, Quoizel's founder, Michael Chaikin began making and selling table lamps at a shop on Manhattan's 25th Street. He called the company Quoizel Lighting, a name suggested by a friend interested in astrology for the conjunction of several planets at the time of the company's birth.

Is a Quoizel Lighting Tiffany a real Tiffany?
Yes. Some of our Tiffany designs are reproductions of original Louis Comfort Tiffany designs. Others are our own creation. They all are genuine Tiffany-style art glass, handcrafted from the finest materials, but not affiliated with Louis Comfort Tiffany. Other companies may have the word Tiffany in their name, but none of them actually have any affiliation with Louis Comfort Tiffany either.
